What FMCSA Is Proposing
If finalized, brokers would have to:
- Keep transaction records electronically
- Provide those records to carriers or shippers if requested
- Respond within 48 hours
- Show more detailed payment information and fees
What Carriers Would Be Able to See
A carrier could request records showing:
- What the shipper paid the broker
- What the broker paid the carrier
- Broker fees or deductions
- Dates payments were made
- Itemized charges and accessorials
